Candy Cane Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 cup Crushed candy canes
  • 3/4 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 Eggs

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Get 1 large bowl and 1 medium bowl. Set the medium bowl aside.
  • In the large bowl add 2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp cornstarch, and 1 cup crushed candy cane. Mix thoroughly.
  • Warm up the butter for 30 seconds to 1 minute (unless butter is at room temperature). In the medium bowl mix 3/4 cup butter, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1/4 cup brown sugar together.
  • To the medium bowl mixture add 1 tsp vanilla extract, and 2 eggs. Mix thoroughly.
  • Add the medium bowl ingredients to the large bowl. Mix thoroughly
  • Make 1 inch balls and put them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches separated. Cook for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. If the cookies don’t look cooked enough, put them back in the oven for a few minutes more.
